The 500XP is the 500 with Suzuki's power steering, and on a long day it is the difference between finishing comfortable and finishing sore. Steering effort drops away over rutted ground and side-slopes without dulling the feel of what the front wheels are doing.

Everything else carries over from the 500X — 493cc fuel-injected single, selectable four-wheel drive, fully independent double-wishbone suspension and an advanced engine braking system that holds the machine back on descents rather than letting it run on.
